The most exciting news of my week is that I have been confirmed a finalist in the New Zealand Painting and Printmaking AWARDS (NZPPA) for 2017. If I said I was delighted, you would have to know thats an understatement. The rumours of a small jig and a pop of a cork were not untrue.
Now, whilst digesting THAT news I have also been cleaning out the studio in anticipation of my open studio and sale tomorrow. That contained more dustballs and dead flies than I was truly comfortable with, but it is done.
I have old work and new work, big and small, framed and unframed, studio and plein air. LOTS OF WORK!
I only open my studio once a year and this year I am doing so in conjunction with my glassmaker partner in crime, Di Tocker. Di's studio is just 10 minutes drive in Ohaupo.
